Our two-day outback tour departed from Alice Springs and took us five hours west to King's Canyon, Ayers Rock (Uluru), and the Olgas.

The road to King's Canyon. No wonder they call it the Red Center. Everything was much greener than it usually is because of the record rainfall just before I arrived.

Looking across King's Canyon. The rock is 400 million years old. The recent rainfall meant more decomposing vegetation and animal poop which means more flies. I've never seen so many. Thank God I had a fly net for my head.

The canyon walls have been carved by a million years of wind erosion. Down below is what they call the Garden of Eden.
